Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Real Estate Technology Infrastructure to serve as a strategic individual contributor responsible for technology infrastructure standards, operational technology (OT), smart building platforms, cybersecurity governance, and vendor management across a global commercial real estate portfolio.

This role will partner closely with technology, construction, engineering, facilities, and property operations teams to ensure buildings are designed, deployed, and maintained as secure, scalable, and future-ready connected environments. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of enterprise networking, infrastructure architecture, operational technology, smart building systems, cybersecurity, and commercial real estate or multi-site infrastructure experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, maintain, and enforce infrastructure standards across a large commercial real estate portfolio.

* Own architecture and governance for building networks, wireless infrastructure, site connectivity, firewalls, remote access, redundancy, and failover strategies.

* Support smart building technologies including Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), HVAC controls, lighting controls, IoT devices, access control systems, CCTV, and visitor management platforms.

* Drive OT/IT cybersecurity initiatives including network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure hardening, and secure remote administration.

* Establish technical design standards and implementation guidelines for development, construction, renovation, and acquisition projects.

* Evaluate, manage, and support technology vendors, systems integrators, telecommunications providers, and service partners.

* Review vendor proposals, contracts, support models, and licensing structures while providing cost-benefit and risk analysis.

* Establish and monitor vendor KPIs and SLAs to ensure service quality and operational performance.

* Serve as a technical liaison between technology, engineering, construction, facilities, and property operations teams.

* Maintain visibility into infrastructure deployments, site readiness efforts, remediation projects, and technology transitions across the portfolio.

* Ensure infrastructure documentation, inventories, configuration records, and technical standards remain current and audit-ready.

* Support critical escalations and strategic technology initiatives as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, enterprise networking, technology operations, operational technology (OT), or smart building environments.

* Experience supporting commercial real estate portfolios, property technology initiatives, construction projects, facilities operations, or multi-site environments.

* Strong knowledge of enterprise networking including switching, routing, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, firewalls, WAN connectivity, redundancy, and failover designs.

* Experience supporting connected building technologies including BAS/BMS, access control systems, CCTV, managed Wi-Fi, and smart building platforms.

* Understanding of OT/IT cybersecurity principles, network segmentation, infrastructure security, risk management, and vulnerability remediation.

* Experience managing vendors, ISPs, system integrators, and technology service providers.

* Working knowledge of building communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and MQTT preferred.

* Exposure to Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools is a plus.

* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Additional Details

Hybrid work schedule requiring three days per week onsite in downtown Houston.
